About the event
The private salons and stunning concert halls of 19th-century Vienna were the beating heart of Europe's vibrant music scene. Vienna was the cultural epicentre for centuries and wealthy patrons played a vital role in supporting renowned composers including Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. Glorious music that is still being performed and loved today.
Through the generosity of the Highlands Music Collective's dear Founding Patron, the late Dr Timothy Pascoe AM, we hold an annual award to encourage talented local musicians aged between 14-24 years. This year's Eva Pascoe Award was won by the wonderful pianist Luke Bowen and we are proud to feature him in this concert.
Luke Bowen is well known to local audiences as a frequent guest recitalist at St Jude's Church and soloist with the Southern Highlands Symphony Orchestra. Luke studies piano with Professor Robert Constable AM, and Musicology with Dr Jane McKellar. He is an outstanding scholar and musician and is a dual degree student at the University of New England, where he specialises in Biomedical Science and Music. Luke is a very impressive twenty-year-old!
We hope you will join us for an enchanting evening of sublime music at the newly renovated Bowral Memorial Hall on Friday 24 May. Tickets include a glass of complimentary wine served from 6 pm before the 6.30 pm concert start.
